Before his current position and work as a certified coach for CEOs and entrepreneurs of small businesses, Luke worked as the Vice President of Business Development and a Certified Business Intermediary for a mergers and acquisitions firm specializing in working with entrepreneurs with businesses under $20 million in revenues. Luke worked very closely with business owners over this period of time, learning about the significant business and life transitions they were entering. When these entrepreneurs were not ready to sell, he'd work with them to devise strategies and plans that would create the value in their business that they were seeking.

 

When business owners were ready to sell, Luke coached them through the difficult business sales process and, at the same time, helped them create visions and strategies for the next stage of their lives--whether it be retirement, a new venture or business, or continuing on with the company to assist in its growth with its newfound, increased resources.

 

From this work with entrepreneurs, Luke founded LINC Performance Group as he greatly appreciates the opportunity to work with small business owners and professionals as they are consistently vibrant, energetic, motivated and highly insightful individuals. Helping individuals achieve their ultimate visions and goals is the passion that drives his consulting and coaching practice.

 

Through his consulting and coaching services, Luke has helped his clients with strategic planning, business development, marketing and advertising, sales management, staff development, creation of new programs and joint ventures, and establishing strategic alliances with other organizations.  

                            

Luke additionally serves as a public speaker on a number of topics relating to the power of coaching, effective communications, leadership skills, effective small business practices, business development and creating powerful, results-driven marketing and advertising strategies.

Whether in a corporate, personal or entrepreneurial role, Lou has always demonstrated a passion for setting goals, implementing the action steps to achieve those goals and, stretching for higher goals when the earlier ones have been accomplished.  At the same time, he recognized and was driven by helping the individual to build on their strengths, embrace opportunities for growth and breakthrough any resistance and limiting beliefs and behaviors that held them back.

 

The passion was first exhibited in his 20 years of corporate life.  His roles and responsibilities centered around strategic and corporate planning, management reporting and analysis to assess the progress in reaching established goals; and, to react to and adjust to inevitable change.  But it was never simply about the numbers because people were involved, from senior management to extensive staffs.  He believed in creating an environment for personal growth and achievement within that corporate setting.

 

Throughout much of this time frame, Lou also consulted for a series of family businesses.  Growing up in an entrepreneurial environment provided both the thirst for his own business as well as an appreciation and empathy for the entrepreneur / small business owner.  In 1988, he founded Corporate Investment International, a business sales and acquisitions firm specializing in businesses with revenues up to $30 million.  As a Business Intermediary, Lou blended his financial and legal background in an area in which he saw an important need.  He had seen too often the difficulties encountered by entrepreneurs as they worked to achieve their goals and dreams.  This market called out for a level of professionalism not often available to the small business owner.

 

But again, it was mostly about the people.  Buying or starting a business may be one of the most difficult decisions and commitments that an individual can make.  Selling a privately held business may be the most important financial event in an individual's life.   It really is about having a dream and pursuing that dream.  And, when you do sell or pass the business to the next generation, you have a definitive measure of your success.  But as significant as that event may be, the critical questions are "how did you get to where you are?"; "did you maintain the balance in life so important to you and your loved ones?"; "Where do you go from here?"; "What are the new dreams, new goals, mountains yet to be climbed?"  Ultimately, it comes down to the individual.

 

Lou is a Certified Empowerment Coach and Accredited Energy Leadership Coach.  But in addition to his formal training, he has essentially served as a coach throughout his corporate and entrepreneurial years - because it has always been about the people.  Today, in his business brokerage practice which he still maintains, client relationships often last for months and years as Lou coaches them to set their goals and to take appropriate action to achieve those goals and maximize the value of their business.

 

Lou thoroughly enjoys working with entrepreneurs at all stages of their business life cycle - from start up to sale.  It's the journey, growth and success of his clients that drives his work.
